Dr Philip Turner qualified in 1987 at Nottingham Medical School and, prior to joining the practice in 1994, worked in junior hospital posts in Derby, Stoke on Trent, Doncaster, Chester, North Wales and New Zealand. He is also the clinical lead for Practice based Commissioning for Biddulph & Kidsgrove and "GP Clinical Champion" for redesign of eyecare services in North Staffordshire in line with the "Fit for the Future" project.

Dr Turner likes to keep physically fit in his spare time by walking and, especially, cycling (when his young family allows him to). He has an increasing interest in home automation, elementary electronics and renewable energy technology, and is also an occasional bell ringer, and jazz fan.
